Getting 'Access Denied by Host' message when trying to use SpamVault
Craig Mayers
The main reason this happens is due to a software firewall such as Norton Internet Security or BlackIce Defender, Zone Alarm, etc. When you click on "SpamVault" in your Control Center, it performs a check to make sure you are accessing it only from your Control Center for security. If your firewall is configured to hide or mask the 'referrer' information, SpamVault cannot detect where your browser was last pointed, and therefore denies access.

To fix this, either turn off referrer blocking, or add your domain to a list of allowed sites in your firewall/security software. In Norton you can specify what settings are active for a particular domain under "Privacy Control" - "Advanced". Add your domain, select it and then click the choice to allow "Information about visited sites". In other programs this choice may be called something else. Once done, you should have no further difficulty accessing SpamVault.
